`Prophet!' said I, `thing of evil! - prophet still, if bird or devil! - Whether tempter sent, or whether tempest tossed thee here ashore, Desolate yet all undaunted, on this desert land enchanted - On this home by horror haunted - tell me truly, I implore - Is there - is there balm in Gilead? - tell me - tell me, I implore!'
Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.'

The Raven (excerpt)
Edgar Allan Poe

What's the scary part? The um, phallic nature of Mother Nature's art?

Nice Jonah, almost biblical.

EC -- it's the vertical with narrow footholds, no handholds, and look ma I'm on this narrow ledge with an 80 ft drop, OMG, will my boots stick to that, is it scary yet part.

Btw, are you scared of really large phallic objects, EC?

I LOVVVVVVE the CROW!!! They are such 'majestic' birds, to me--as you know!! I have some new pics of 'Tapper' posted in MySpace now...he's allowing me to move closer and closer. He is just ever so cool. Unfortunately, oftentimes, they get such a bad rap (no pun)...I love these birds...love the photo!!! As always, ALL of your photos are awesome! ('Think I should toss in another A?! Ha!!)

I chuckle at your lists too!! You're sooo organized and thorough!! Impressive!

The organized bit doesn't usually suit me -- but backpacking is a real test of organization.
