The Little Colorado enters the Colorado. The mud is the Little C. that was the last of the clear water. Colorado River, September 2005.

Theres a similar situation at Cairo, IL (I think) where the Ohio empties into the Mississippi. The mud there, of course, can be from either river. Here are couple pictures of the confluence with either the Mississippi or the Ohio being the dirty river.
In your picture, it's neat to see the muddy water eroding into the clean water from below and the clean water caught in little eddies on the surface.
